Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of medical terminology course or equivalent experience and education.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail in registration and insurance verification.

Responsibilities

• Registers and verifies insurance and demographic information with the patient according to guidelines.
• Verifies insurance coverage, eligibility, contract group number, dates and coverage.
• Informs patients of co-pays or self-pay policy and documents in patient accounts.
• Monitors patient balances and informs patients of outstanding balances for payment arrangements.
• Responds to patient questions and concerns per established procedures.
• Complies with laws, regulations, policies and standards.
• Participates in improvements and may assist with incoming calls.
• Schedules appointments with specified clinicians per guidelines and availability.
