Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minnesota is hiring for an on-site Revenue Cycle/Patient Access role focused on gathering accurate demographic and insurance information, collecting payments, and guiding patients through financial options.

The position involves interacting with patients and families, coordinating with multiple departments, and maintaining compliance and privacy across high-volume workflows. Weekend on-call is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years combination of customer service, other position in healthcare revenue cycle or experience in an equivalent level 1 position.
• Patient collections experience in a medical setting.
• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal), attention to detail, self-directed and a positive attitude are essential.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain and document accurate patient demographic and insurance information in the medical record.
• Use insurance knowledge and resources to verify eligibility and expedite payment.
• Perform check-in process including collection of co-pays, signatures on forms, scanning insurance cards and IDs; inform patient of notices per regulatory requirements.
• Interact with patients and families in challenging situations requiring de-escalation skills.
• Manage daily worklists and assist in training and mentoring staff.
