Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Part Time Patient Access Representative to manage the full registration process for patients in outpatient and/or Emergency Department locations.

Responsibilities include verifying demographics, insurance, and orders, collecting payments, and coordinating with clinical and revenue cycle teams to ensure a smooth patient experience. Ideal candidates have strong customer service skills, proficiency in data entry, and knowledge of Epic.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Certificate/Degree in health care related field preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• General computer experience and ability to type fluently, accurately, and quickly required.
• Insurance background preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Previous medical administrative experience and/or health care related education courses preferred.
• Knowledge of health information system (EPIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients in outpatient and/or Emergency Department locations, including demographics and insurance verification.
• Transcribe orders, enter diagnosis and provider information, and ensure real-time eligibility checks.
• Collect point-of-service payments and manage work queues related to registration.
• Coordinate with clinical departments and revenue cycle teams to ensure smooth patient experience and accurate claims.
• Cross-train across locations and ensure courteous service to patients and visitors.
• Assist with Welcome Kiosk and On My Way technology and promote MyChart usage.
