Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Per Diem Patient Access Representative to manage patient registration in outpatient and Emergency Department settings.

Responsibilities include verifying demographics, insurance and referrals, and coordinating with departments to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate billing. The role requires strong customer service, ability to type accurately, knowledge of medical terminology, and familiarity with Epic EMR.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• General computer experience and ability to type fluently, accurately, and quickly required.
• Insurance background preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Previous medical administrative experience and/or health care related education courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and validate patient information in the hospital information system to ensure accurate electronic medical records.
• Cross train in all areas of location or region; outpatient and Emergency Department coverage.
• Greet patients and visitors and provide courteous service while enforcing policies.
• Answer calls and provide information about facility services and directions when needed.
• Promote MyChart patient portal and patient self-service capabilities to engage patients in care.
• Assist patients with Welcome Kiosk and On My Way technology and monitor arrival process.
