Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Patient Access Representative to handle patient registration for outpatient and Emergency Department locations. You will verify insurance, transcribe orders, and collect demographics, enabling accurate electronic medical records and smooth patient flow.

The role requires strong customer service, data-entry skills, and knowledge of EPIC; experience with MyChart is a plus. No remote work; travel between campuses may be required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required; healthcare background preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
• Insurance background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and register patients in hospital information system (pre-reg and post-reg).
• Verify insurance and real-time eligibility; collect at point of service.
• Transcribe orders and gather demographics, emergency contact, and provider info.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure accurate registration and reduce denials.
• Greet patients and direct visitors; promote MyChart portal use and self-service tools.
• Cross-train across locations and outpatient/ED areas.
