Job summary

The Patient Access Services Representative at MUSC Health serves as the first point of contact for patients, assisting with accurate registration and preparing accounts for billing. You will collaborate with clinicians and staff to ensure smooth ambulatory service intake and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities include verifying payment methods, setting up payment arrangements, assisting programs, and handling basic billing inquiries while maintaining a professional demeanor and strong guest

Qualifications

• High school diploma and two years of administrative experience or Associate's degree and one year medical experience or a Bachelor's degree.
• Typing speed of 25CWPM and computer experience required.
• EPIC, Medical Terminology, and knowledge of insurance preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and guest relations.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the initial point of contact for patients and facilitates accurate registration.
• Verifies and completes registration; prepares patient accounts for billing; advises on payment methods.
• Assists in payment arrangements and insurance/assistance programs; handles basic billing inquiries.
• Operates office equipment and supports patient flow in a hospital/ambulatory setting.
