Responsibilities

• Creates the initial electronic health record used by the healthcare team to ensure patient safety.
• Checks in and registers patients, collects demographics, insurance info, and co-pays.
• Explains insurance basics and refers patients to Financial Advocates as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
• Schedules appointments and provides test prep, arrival times, and directions.
• Provides welcoming, professional customer service and handles phone inquiries.
• Monitors EHR work queues and follows department procedures.
