Job summary

Atrium Health is hiring for a Full-time Patient Access/Registration role in Georgia. The position focuses on creating the patient record in the electronic health system and ensuring data accuracy, while registering patients and verifying insurance and demographics.

It also involves collecting co-pays and guiding patients through the care process with strong service and privacy focus. Candidates should have High School graduation and be comfortable with EPIC EMR, insurance tools, and Microsoft

Qualifications

• Creates the initial electronic health record and identifies patients to prevent duplicates.
• Registers patients with complete demographics, guarantor, and insurance data; collects co-pays.
• Explains insurance basics and guides patients to Financial Advocates when needed.
• Adheres to HIPAA, EMTALA, and related regulations and obtains required signatures.
• Schedules appointments and provides test prep, arrival times, and directions.
• Delivers exceptional customer service and assists with transportation or interpreter needs.
• Manages EHR work queues according to department processes.

Responsibilities

• Creates the initial electronic health record and prevents duplicates that affect care and billing.
• Registers patients, verifies demographics, insurance details, and collects patient financial responsibilities.
• Explains insurance coverage and when to refer to Financial Advocates; answers patient questions.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and patient rights; obtains required signatures.
• Schedules appointments, coordinates cancellations or recalls, and provides care instructions.
• Greets patients and visitors; delivers friendly, professional assistance and directions.
• Monitors and processes electronic health record work queues per approved procedures.
