Job summary

R1 RCM is seeking a Patient Access Representative at LifePoint North Alabama Medical Center. This PRN, as-needed role requires minimum 48 hours per month with 24 on-call shifts and offers a pathway into healthcare administration and revenue cycle operations.

You will be the first contact for patients, providing fast, compassionate access to care while supporting registration, insurance verification, and cost estimates in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or front-desk roles is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients and families.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to multiple computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Register patients efficiently across multiple computer systems.
• Answer phones and collect accurate patient information quickly.
• Help ensure timely access to care by minimizing registration delays.
• Build trust with patients who may be anxious or ill.
• Navigate insurance plans, collect co-pays, and provide cost estimates.
• Collaborate with nurses and care teams to maintain smooth patient flow.
