R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Representative in Florence, Alabama (LifePoint North Alabama Medical Center) to serve as the first point of contact and provide fast, compassionate, and accurate access to care. This PRN role requires a minimum 48 hours per month with on-call shifts, and offers exposure to revenue cycle processes and hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient access, medical registration, insurance verification, or front desk is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to pass background check, drug test, and vaccination requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients with check-in across multiple computer systems.
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Support timely access to care by minimizing delays in registration and answering questions with confidence and compassion.
• Build trust with patients during moments when they may be ill, anxious, confused, or overwhelmed.
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and provide cost estimates when applicable.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
