Job summary

La Paz Regional Hospital seeks a Patient Access Supervisor to lead daily operations across Upfront Registration, ED Registration, Scheduling, and related areas. You will supervise staff, coach performance, and ensure compliant, accurate registrations while supporting the revenue cycle and payer interactions.

You will collaborate with clinical and billing teams to improve reimbursement outcomes and enhance the patient financial experience in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in Patient Access or related healthcare field.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Patient Access Department to ensure efficient workflows.
• Lead staff, provide coaching, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new employees.
• Monitor productivity, quality, and KPIs with corrective action as needed.
• Support revenue cycle activities: registration, verification, authorization, and denials management.
• Collaborate with clinical departments, billing, and third-party payers to optimize reimbursements.
• Assist with payroll and staffing levels while controlling overtime.
• Be on-call and cover shifts during manager absence or emergencies.
• Address patient, provider, and staff concerns to maintain a positive experience.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, CMS, and organizational policies.
