Job summary

Central Louisiana Surgical Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Lead to oversee scheduling, registration and admissions, while mentoring staff and upholding high service standards. You will coordinate daily workflow, monitor productivity, and ensure HIPAA/compliance, contributing to smooth patient flow.

Reports to the Patient Access Director; hours are 6am–2:30pm as a non-exempt role, with opportunities to improve processes and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree preferred; HS diploma or GED allowed.
• Minimum 5 years in Patient Access with 2+ years in lead/supervisory roles.
• Excellent customer service and strong oral/written communication.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts; attention to detail and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day patient access operations including scheduling, insurance verification, registration and admissions.
• Provide coverage for all Patient Access roles as needed.
• Escalate complex issues to the Patient Access Director with sound judgment.
• Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors professionally and compassionately.
• Train, orient, and mentor staff on policies, HIPAA, CMS, DNV requirements.
• Prepare reports and support performance improvement initiatives.
