Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time Scheduling and Patient Access Clerk to support outpatient clinic operations. The role focuses on first impressions, accurate demographic/insurance data, and efficient scheduling and registration processes.

Responsibilities include greetings, registration, insurance verification, referrals, and coordinating follow-up appointments, with compensation starting in the $17.20–$21.50 per hour range depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• No formal education requirements.
• Entry level experience is acceptable.
• Excellent patient-facing communication and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Schedules all patient appointments and ensures referrals are obtained.
• Meets or exceeds expected productivity and accuracy standards.
• Greets and engages patients, families and visitors to provide a positive first impression.
• Completes registration and discharge activities, including co-payment collection and insurance verification.
• Arranges discharge scheduling and follow-up appointments/tests.
• Can register in 1+ Centers (demonstrated by floating).
• Collaborates with clinical partners to optimize patient communication and clinic flow.
• Supports patient satisfaction surveys and improves the patient experience.
