Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative who will be the first point of contact for patients, providing courteous service and handling scheduling, registration, and benefit verification.

This full-time role covers weekends and holidays with rotating shifts; the incumbent will verify insurance, obtain accurate data, and support pre-certification and financial clearance.

A high school diploma is required with 1–3 years clerical and customer service experience; some college is helpful.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years clerical experience and customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all components of the patient’s entrance into Mercy facilities, including scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance.
• Ensure the most accurate patient data is collected and entered into the patient record; maintain accuracy and privacy when handling information.
