Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a clerk to manage patient registration, scheduling, and admitting at bedside while ensuring data accuracy and privacy. You will verify insurance, explain financial responsibilities, and collect payments when needed.

The role supports HIPAA compliance and coordinated patient care in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent and basic computer skills; medical terminology knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Required High School/GED or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.
• Preferred medical terminology and insurance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conducts scheduling, registration, and admitting functions independently at bedside; validates patient demographic data and insurance information.
• Obtains required signatures on regulatory paperwork and processes data for timely bill submission.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities, calculates estimates, collects liabilities, and posts payments in the ADT system.
