Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to greet patients, collect demographic and insurance information, and coordinate scheduling and registration at arrival.

You will work to ensure accurate data entry, verify coverages, assist with financial clearance, and obtain signatures on required forms, all while upholding HIPAA and patient confidentiality in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; 1 year related experience or training.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts scheduling, registration, and admitting functions independently, validates demographics and insurance data.
• Collects and updates data for timely bill submission, including workers' comp and motor vehicle claims.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities, calculates estimates, collects liabilities, and posts payments.
• Delivers positive patient experience and maintains professional collaboration with staff and external agencies.
• Ensures accurate registration in the EHR and protects patient confidentiality.
