Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Access professional to complete scheduling, preregistration, and financial clearance functions. You will verify benefits, collect liabilities, and document information to support accurate billing while delivering a positive patient experience.

The role requires effective communication of financial responsibilities to patients and families, and adherence to HIPAA and organizational policies. Training and collaboration with AHN leadership are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or 1–3 months related experience.
• One year related experience preferred in medical/financial services or customer service.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications; familiarity with insurance verifications.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and preregisters patients; verifies demographics and benefits.
• Obtains and documents medical benefits, plan codes and COB; supports accurate billing.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities and collects/liabilities per policy.
• Delivers positive patient experience and maintains professional relationships.
• Adheres to policies; participates in required training; performs other duties as assigned.
