Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health is seeking an ED Registration professional to support patient access, scheduling, and revenue cycle activities in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role involves coordinating ED discharges, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and facilitating referrals to community services while collaborating with primary care and specialty teams to ensure timely care.

Minimum high school diploma with some college preferred; experience in medical registration and Epic is

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college preferred.
• Experience in medical facility registration, scheduling, or billing is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Epic and patient pre-certifications or referrals is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for patients with PCPs and specialists.
• Facilitate patient discharge planning from the Emergency Department via follow-up scheduling.
• Coordinate care with primary care and specialty physicians as ordered by ED staff.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect patient payments.
• Retain patients in the Cooper Health System by scheduling in Centricity/central scheduling or by calling offices.
• Assist patients with referrals to community services when needed.
• Communicate with referring providers to address patient and physician needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, well-coordinated care.
• Track and report weekly all scheduled services.
• Float to other ED Registration areas as needed to support patient access.
