Job summary

USC Care Medical Group seeks a Patient Access Liaison II to act as the primary contact for access to USC academic medical centers and USC Health Sciences Campus. You will answer and route calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and ensure data integrity while supporting a high level of service and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities include data entry, coordinating with nurses and physicians, and using scheduling systems to manage bumps and cancellations.

Qualifications

• Req High school or equivalent.
• Req 2 years minimum two years of experience in a call center, customer service and/or healthcare environment.
• Req Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
• Req Ability to multi-task.
• Req Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Pref Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and health insurance types preferred.
• Pref Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred.
• Pref Demonstrated knowledge of high-level computer literacy with practice management scheduling systems.
• Pref Bilingual: Spanish, Chinese and other languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers, screens and directs incoming and outgoing calls and messages.
• Schedules and confirms initial and follow-up medical appointments.
• Registers patients and verifies insurance coverage and estimated financial responsibility.
• Performs data entry and maintains data integrity.
• Coordinates care with patient coordinators, nurses and physicians.
• Demonstrates HIPAA compliance and uses call management systems.
• May work from home per organizational guidelines.
• Handles messages and escalates as needed within the center.
