Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Lead Patient Access Representative to manage scheduling for patient access staff and ensure efficient operations across the department. You will coordinate staffing, monitor performance, and support onboarding.

You will obtain and record accurate patient information, verify insurance, and help create complete medical records while upholding patient confidentiality and delivering high-quality service to patients and physicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of experience in Patient Access or a Revenue Cycle organization.
• Experience coordinating multiple tasks and staff scheduling.
• Knowledge of EHR, medical terminology, and hospital registration systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and adjusts staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
• Conducts orientation and training of new employees on policies and procedures.
• Contributes to staff performance appraisals.
• Ensures compliance with insurance verification software usage and reporting.
• Interviews patients to collect data for medical records and billing.
• Greets patients with courtesy and protects privacy.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and collects necessary signatures.
• Prepares daily statistics and reports.
• Maintains competencies per department and hospital policies.
