Job summary

Amerita, Inc. is seeking an Intake Coordinator to join our Intake team at our location branch. You will coordinate with Sales and pharmacy teams to process referrals and communicate insurance coverage to patients and referral sources.

The role requires gathering patient information, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring timely documentation and approvals for initial shipments. This is a full‑time, on‑site position with daytime hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification procedures.
• Understands the scope of services Amerita can provide.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process referrals received from referral sources.
• Ensure all required documentation is received to process referrals timely.
• Ensure intake referral checklists are complete.
• Enter patient demographic, clinical, and insurance information into the system.
• Coordinate with Sales, Access and clinical staff regarding referrals and authorization requirements.
• Verify insurance coverage and confirm patient financial responsibility before delivery.
• Document progress notes in the system.
• Notify patients and caregivers regarding insurance coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
