Job summary

Amerita is seeking an Intake Coordinator in Scottsdale to manage the timely clearance of new referrals for infusion therapies. You will verify referrals, obtain authorizations, enter patient demographics, and coordinate with departments to keep processes smooth.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least two years in referral intake, and experience with Medicare/Medicaid and commercial payers. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or some college preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience collecting referral information in healthcare.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance payers.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification procedures.
• Understands Amerita's scope of services.

Responsibilities

• Takes Infusion Therapy referrals from referral sources.
• Ensures intake forms are complete, clear, and within Amerita’s scope of service.
• Obtains authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers.
• Enters patient demographic, insurance and authorization information into the computer system.
• Communicates with other departments regarding the status of referrals.
• Notifies patients/families regarding coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Understands which insurance companies have active contracts with Amerita.
• Ensures insurance verification is completed and authorization is in place prior to giving the referral to a Pharmacist.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
