Job summary

Amerita, Inc. is seeking an Intake Coordinator to join our Intake team. This role reports to the General Manager and works at our location branch.

The coordinator will manage referrals, verify insurance, obtain required authorizations and enter patient data into the system while maintaining confidentiality. The position supports a collaborative, non-retail, closed-door environment and offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma/GED; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience collecting referral information in the healthcare market.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurers.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification procedures.
• Understands Amerita's scope of service and maintains confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Takes infusion therapy referrals from referral sources.
• Ensures all intake forms are complete, clear and within Amerita’s scope of service.
• Obtains authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers.
• Enters patient demographics, insurance and authorization data into the system.
• Communicates with other departments about referral status.
• Notifies patients/families about coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Knows which insurance companies have active Amerita contracts.
• Verifies insurance and ensures authorization before handing referrals to a pharmacist.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
