Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an Access Services Representative 2 in Round Rock, TX. The role focuses on collecting accurate demographics, verifying insurance, and guiding patients through the registration and financial clearance processes.

You will cross-train across areas, mentor peers, and help maintain smooth patient flow while delivering excellent customer service in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of healthcare or customer service experience or education equivalency.
• Good listening, interpersonal and communication skills, and professional telephone etiquette.
• Maintain a professional demeanor in stressful environments including trauma or life/death situations.
• Exhibit high empathy and communicate well with patients and families during trauma.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and documents patient interviews to obtain demographic and financial data for registration, insurance verification, precertification, and billing.
• Knows patient flow processes in each area and identifies process improvement opportunities.
• Verifies patient eligibility for insurance coverage and collects patient liability per policy.
• May perform cashiering duties and assist patients to nursing units as needed.
• Escalates service issues to management and ensures compliance with policies.
