Job summary

Muslim Community & Health Center (MCHC) in South Milwaukee is expanding to open a new site. We are seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first contact for visitors and patients, handling check-in, scheduling, billing questions, and general front-desk duties using Epic EMR.

The role includes greeting visitors, collecting demographic and insurance information, coordinating appointments, answering phones, processing payments, and supporting HIPAA-compliant record management.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English.
• Minimum High School Diploma.
• Proficiency in computer use, including MS Office.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
• Previous exposure to the healthcare field and familiarity with medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Greeting and welcoming all visitors, ascertain purpose of visit, and direct them to staff.
• Patient Check-In/Out: verify demographics, collect co-pays, ensure documentation in Epic EMR.
• Answering the telephones and routing calls to staff.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments using Epic EMR and optimize provider schedules.
• Maintain patient records and HIPAA-compliant data handling and documentation.
• Coordinate with clinical teams to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
