Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of Medicare, HIPAA, and EMTALA rules; stay current on pre-certification requirements.
• Strong communication and confidentiality skills; ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and manages flow to ensure efficient, courteous service.
• Verifies and updates patient demographics and insurance information.
• Completes registration for walk‑in patients and handles changes to demographics/insurance.
• Calculates, collects and documents patient financial liability; requests past due balances when needed.
• Performs visit closure: schedules follow‑ups and provides required documents.
• Keeps up-to-date with Medicare/Medicaid and third‑party payer policies and pre‑authorizations.
