Responsibilities

• Checks in and registers patients; verifies demographic, guarantor, and insurance information.
• Discusses and collects co-pays and out-of-pocket responsibilities; ensures timely payment.
• Maintains patient confidentiality according to HIPAA requirements.
• Explains test preparations, arrival times, and facility directions to patients.
• Greet patients/visitors and provide assistance, including transportation or interpreter needs.
• Monitors electronic health record work queues per department process.
