Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time insurance verification and patient registration specialist to support the hospital entry process. This role maintains patient confidentiality and ensures accurate demographics, insurance data, and co-pays are collected at check-in.

You will work in a fast-paced setting, using EPIC and office tools, with a focus on customer service and effective communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• Ability to work in a high-stress, high-volume environment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Create initial electronic health records for new patients.
• Register patients and collect demographic/insurance information; discuss co-pays.
• Explain insurance basics and discuss financial responsibilities with patients.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant handling of patient data and communications.
• Coordinate appointments and provide directions and assistance to patients.
