Aurora Health Care is seeking an entry-level Registration Clerk to support patient intake and records management. You will assist with patient check-in, verify information, collect payments, and guide patients through scheduling and portal use.

This role emphasizes accurate data entry, confidentiality, and teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Prior relevant experience is not required, but strong communication and service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to handle high-volume work with interruptions.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Familiarity with HIPAA privacy practices preferred.
• Ability to coordinate with physicians and staff effectively.

Responsibilities

• Creates the initial electronic health record used by the care team to ensure patient safety and accurate billing.
• Registers patients, verifies demographics and insurance, collects co-pays, and protects confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Discusses financial obligations and refers patients to Financial Advocates when needed.
• Ensures compliance with regulations (HIPAA, EMTALA, notices) and secures patient signatures as required.
• Schedules appointments (in-person/virtual), handles follow-ups, and supports patient portal usage.
