Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Customer Service Liaison to create the first impression of the medical center. You will greet patients, collect demographic and regulatory data, obtain signatures, verify insurance eligibility, and collect copays, guiding patients to the correct location.

You will verify patient identity in EMPI, handle registrations, answer calls, support scheduling and precertification, and assist across Patient Access to ensure accurate admissions, transfers, and

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Graduate; Some College preferred.
• Minimum Experience: 2–4 years in health care registration/check-in; insurance knowledge preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills; ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service to patients and internal clients as per standards.
• Obtains accurate patient information and enters into the Meditech system.
• Verifies and updates all insurance information and collects copays.
• Coordinates bed assignments and manages admissions, transfers, and discharges including death procedures.
• Answers phones within 3 rings and supports scheduling and precertification areas.
