Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Customer Service Liaison for Patient Access. You will greet patients, collect demographics, verify regulatory data (HIPAA, Medicare, JACHO, etc.), and ensure insurance eligibility and copay collection.

You will confirm patient identity via EMPI and guide patients to the appropriate location within the hospital. The role emphasizes accurate data entry, confidentiality, and strong communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school graduate; some college preferred.
• 2-4 years in a health care setting with registration/check-in experience is required; insurance knowledge preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service to internal and external clients, patients and families as referenced in Service Excellence Standards.
• Obtains accurate patient information and enters into Meditech system; verifies demographics and insurance details.
• Obtains signatures and regulatory paperwork (HIPAA notices, consent, etc.).
• Checks quality of registrations daily and maintains accurate logs and census.
