Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Specialist in our Neurology Texas group. You will be the first point of contact for patients, handling calls, scheduling appointments, and collecting accurate demographics in the EMR.

You will verify insurance details, guide patients through testing requirements, and maintain data integrity in the EMR while upholding confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred
• High-volume phone/call experience preferred
• Medical terminology/healthcare experience preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner
• Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments
• Verify and accurately enter patient demographics
• Inform patients about insurance carrier plans and out-of-network status
• Communicate orders/tests with practice staff as applicable
• Ensure edits are recorded in the EMR
• Ensure all information is accurate in the EMR
• Select the correct patient medical record number
• Use systems to communicate with staff and patients
• Maintain professional conduct with colleagues and patients
• Protect patient privacy and provide excellent patient care
• Adhere to Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statements
• Read and adhere to Physician Services policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
