Job summary

Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking a part-time Patient Access Specialist to greet patients, manage scheduling, and assist with registration and insurance verification. The role supports access services and requires adherence to established procedures within the Patient Access Services Center.

Responsibilities include documenting calls in the EPIC EHR, processing registrations, and coordinating follow-up appointments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred 1 year of experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services or related fields.
• Experience with electronic health records is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors as a concierge and communicate effectively.
• Handle clerical tasks: answer calls, schedule appointments, process mail and supplies.
• Register patients and check-in/out, verify demographics and insurance information.
• Document calls in the EHR for routing and resolution.
• Support safety initiatives and adhere to quality guidelines.
