Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health is seeking a Patient Access representative to schedule appointments, coordinate ED discharges, and connect patients with PCPs and specialists in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will verify insurance, assist with registrations and payments, and work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and coordinated care while upholding HIPAA and patient privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service, analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of registration process and electronic appointment scheduling.
• Understanding of insurance plans, referrals, and preauthorization processes.
• EMR/Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with PCPs.
• Assist with patient discharge from ED and follow-up scheduling.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect payments.
• Register patients and ensure accurate demographic data.
• Coordinate referrals and preauthorizations for needed services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient privacy.
