Job summary

The Advocate Health Patient Access & Care Team in Charlotte, NC seeks a part-time Call Center Specialist to connect patients with care and schedule appointments.

Responsibilities include verifying demographics and insurance, guiding callers, and providing courteous customer service while using EMR systems. Requires 0–1 year in a call center or healthcare setting and a High School diploma.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of patient scheduling and insurance basics is helpful.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Uses policies to link patient experience between PACT and practice site.
• Assists inbound callers and makes outbound follow-up calls as needed.
• Troubleshoots basic issues with online applications and systems.
• Schedules appointments, coordinates cancellations/reschedules, and collects demographics and insurance info.
• Verifies insurance coverage and updates patient records as needed.
• Transfers emergent calls to RN for triage when required.
• Routed calls for triage, scheduling, refills, and provider paging.
• Delivers customer service per standards and records interactions in the EMR.
• Supports provider and marketing databases and reports; performs other duties as needed.
• Maintains knowledge of information systems used by the department.
