Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a part-time Patient Access & Care Team coordinator to link the patient experience between PACT and the practice site. The role handles inbound calls, schedules appointments, verifies demographics and insurance, and updates records.

You will work 20 hours weekly with Sunday, Monday 4a-1p and Thursday 4p-8p shifts, plus mandatory training Mon-Fri 8a-5p for 4 weeks. High School diploma required; 0-1 year call center/healthcare CS preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of customer service and ability to work with a variety of patients and patient situations.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology is helpful but not required.
• Basic understanding of computers and desktop software packages.

Responsibilities

• Link the patient experience between PACT and the practice site using established policies and procedures.
• Assist inbound callers and make outbound calls as needed.
• Escalate complex problems for resolution and perform basic technical troubleshooting on online applications or access as requested.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate cancellations, reschedules, and additions; obtain demographics and verify insurance coverage.
• Update medical records with patient information and ensure accuracy of records.
• Triager calls by directing urgent cases to Registered Nurses as appropriate and follow department guidelines.
• Provide customer service per departmental standards and document interactions across systems.
• Support marketing efforts by providing information and referrals and maintaining records.
