Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients and explains the service process to ensure a positive experience
• Performs pre-registration/registration and verifies eligibility, obtaining authorizations
• Collects payments and supports billing processes to meet targets
• Provides financial counseling and assists with Medicaid and financial assistance programs
• Acts as liaison between patient, billing, payors and staff to optimize account receivables
• Communicates with physicians and hospital staff to resolve issues and patient concerns
• Maintains productivity goals and accurate electronic records of transactions
• Performs additional Patient Financial Services tasks as needed
