Qualifications

• One year experience in a high-volume healthcare facility or medical office setting with strong computer and customer service experience required
• High school graduate required or equivalent, evidence of continuing education preferred.
• Medical terminology strongly preferred
• Insurance and billing experience strongly required

Responsibilities

• Handle patient registration and pre-registration for outpatient and inpatient accounts
• Calculate and secure patient liability including copayments, coinsurance and deductibles accurately
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, guarantors, insurance companies and physicians
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient information
• Ability to travel to off-site locations (Outpatient only)
• Active use of Word and Excel to maneuver through multiple screens and record data
