Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital is seeking a Patient Representative to ensure smooth patient access. You will greet and register patients, collect demographics and insurance information, verify eligibility, schedule appointments and provide financial information and price estimates.

Role requires HIPAA knowledge, strong customer service, and accuracy in data entry and payments. Weekend standby rotations may apply for ED assignments. Full-time position in Kalamazoo, MI.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding strongly preferred.
• Basic typing at 45 WPM and basic ten key.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and payer regulations.
• Experience with multiple computer applications in a Windows environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients efficiently.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect demographics.
• Provide and explain required patient forms, scheduling and information.
• Collect payments and balance procedures.
• Process physician orders and enter them accurately.
• Identify financial counseling needs and explain billing steps.
