Job summary

Bronson Healthcare is seeking a part-time Emergency Department Patient Representative to support patient access across our facilities. You will greet and register patients, verify demographics and insurance, provide financial counseling, and collect payments with accuracy and courtesy.

The role requires HIPAA knowledge, basic typing, and strong customer service skills. Weekend standby rotation is possible as part of the ED team, with a 28-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Medical Terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding strongly preferred.
• Basic typing at 45 WPM, basic ten key, and computer skills within a Windows environment.
• Experience with multiple computer applications/operating systems, and office machines.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements, insurance payer regulations and requirements, and patient rights.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle components and its impact on patient care and revenue.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients efficiently and accurately.

• Provide patients with financial information, price estimates, and collect payments.
