Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in customer service preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality.
• Medical terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding preferred.
• Ability to verify insurance eligibility online.
• Strong typing (45 WPM) and basic keyboarding.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple facilities and departments.

Responsibilities

• Greets and registers patients accurately and efficiently.
• Verifies insurance eligibility using online systems.
• Collects and enters payments, follows required balancing procedures.
• Schedules and communicates appointment information accurately for multiple facilities and departments.
• Verifies insurance for scheduled and urgent patients and obtains authorization per payer criteria.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA requirements.
• Supports revenue cycle processes and accurate registration impact on patient satisfaction.
