Job summary

Community Health Network seeks an Associate Patient Access Representative to be the first contact for visitors, handling patient registration, scheduling, and financial clearance. The APAR supports check-ins, payments, and insurance verification while maintaining compliance and accurate data entry in the EHR system.

This role emphasizes front-office efficiency and high-quality customer service, ensuring smooth patient flow and adherence to CMS guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1+ years experience in healthcare office setting and/or strong customer service background preferred.
• Proficient in registrations (inpatient, outpatient, and emergency) and admissions processes.
• Ability to complete Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers in a timely manner.
• Ability to monitor and manage patient hospital and ambulatory movements.
• Uses EPIC work queue to pre-register scheduled patients.
• Verifies medical necessity per CMS standards and communicates coverage/eligibility to patients.
• Accurately identifies and enters patient demographics, insurance and financial information.
• Gathers and verifies confidential health and financial information from patients for payment authorization.
• Confirms completeness of electronic health records (EHR) and makes necessary updates.
