Job summary

Spectrum Medical Care Center in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a Patient Services Specialist to be the first point of contact and drive a smooth patient experience. You will handle scheduling, registration, eligibility checks, insurance questions, and financial education in a single interaction.

This role emphasizes converting inquiries into appointments, reducing barriers to care, and building trusted patient relationships that support ongoing engagement with Spectrum Medical services.

Qualifications

• Experience with EMR systems and patient data handling.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills with empathy and professionalism.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to reducing stigma.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Convert qualified leads into scheduled appointments and ensure completion.
• Answer inbound calls and manage scheduling, insurance questions, portal help, and billing inquiries.
• Register new patients and verify eligibility and benefits.
• Educate patients on financial responsibilities and payment options.
• Document all patient interactions in the EHR and follow up on missed visits.
• Collaborate with the Patient Support Supervisor to identify and remove access barriers to care.
• Deliver a welcoming, stigma-free patient experience in every interaction.
• Support ongoing training in billing, insurance, and customer service skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Patient Support Supervisor or Administrator.
