Job summary

McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center is seeking a patient access clerk to support registration, admissions, and patient relations. You will interview patients to initiate accounts, evaluate needs for services and procedures, and determine the necessary documentation for medical and financial processes.

You will collect co-pays and deposits, educate patients on financial responsibilities, and document payments while coordinating with treatment teams to ensure accurate records and smooth patient

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medical terminology strongly preferred.
• Experience in medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform registration, admission, and financial functions under supervision.
• Conduct interviews to initiate patient accounts.
• Evaluate information to determine hospital services and procedures needed.
• Determine documentation requirements based on medical and financial indicators.
• Secure information to support rapid reimbursement.
• Collect co-payments, deposits, and anticipated balances.
• Educate patients about medical necessity and requirements.
• Document payments and exchange of funds.
• Serve as liaison between patients and treatment teams.
