Job summary

The University of Southern California Arcadia Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Representative to interview incoming patients in the inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department settings, and to assemble a complete admission record with accurate demographic and financial information.

Under the Admitting Manager, you will answer inquiries, collect deposits, coordinate with nursing units and ancillary departments, provide directions inside the hospital, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• M.A.B. certification required.
• New hires must obtain BLS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Interview incoming patients to obtain data for admission and create an accurate admission record.
• Process deposits or payments and explain financial responsibility to patients.
• Direct patients to proper destinations within the hospital.
• Uphold HIPAA, EMTALA, and other relevant regulations in Patient Financial Services.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure timely data entry into the electronic medical record.
