NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is seeking a Laboratory Assistant - Pathological Admin - Part Time, Days to support the Clinical Labs-Pathological Administration team. The role involves specimen management, inventory control, instrument maintenance, and collaboration with the Pathology Department, morgue upkeep, and routine duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a High School degree with biology/chemistry credits, basic computer skills, and good communication.

Qualifications

High School Diploma with 12 college credits in biology or chemistry.
Lab experience, including handling biological samples and records.
Proficiency with Excel and Word; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist lab staff with day-to-day operations, specimen processing, and inventory handling.
Support pathology department in morgue duties and record keeping.
Maintain temperature/humidity logs and assist with sample labeling and processing.
Handle shipping of samples and front-end processing for analysis.
Ensure proper receipt, storage of laboratory materials, and reagent management.
Perform general cleaning of work surfaces and equipment per protocols.
Respond to inquiries about test availability, instructions, and TAT.
Assist with review of pending lists and retrieval of missed tests/specimens.
Support with back-end processing and disposal of regulated waste.
