Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 12 college credits in biology or chemistry.
• Laboratory experience handling blood and body fluids; ability to use a computer (Excel/Word).
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist lab staff with day-to-day laboratory operations, including specimen handling, inventory management, and instrument maintenance.
• Support Pathology Department in morgue-related duties and record keeping as assigned.
• Maintain supplies and document receipt of goods per NYU policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare samples for analysis (labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting) and assist in storage and disposal per policy.
• Answer calls and provide information on test availability and turnaround times.
