Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Pastry to serve as the in-store pastry authority, delivering hands-on classes and culinary instruction that align with company standards. You will drive sales of bakeware and decorating tools through engaging demonstrations and customer interaction.

The role requires 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience, a preferred culinary arts degree (or equivalent extensive experience), and a Food Manager Certification.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• A degree in culinary arts is preferred; extensive culinary experience may substitute.
• 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by delivering memorable, educational pastry experiences.
• Lead in-store pastry and baking classes to meet revenue goals.
• Communicate technical pastry concepts in an approachable manner.
• Stay current on products through available training and self-learning.
• Maintain kitchen safety, sanitation, and inventory practices.
