Job summary

Sorenson Communications is seeking a part-time Sign Language Interpreter in Indianapolis, IN to provide Video Relay Service (VRS) interpreting between ASL and spoken English. You will adhere to licensure/certification requirements and Sorenson standards, while supporting both US and Canada centers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Interpreter certification as required by local regulations.
• 3 years’ interpreting experience preferred, not required.
• Ability to pass required skills assessment.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
• Maintain flexibility to support a variable VRS schedule.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between ASL and spoken English (Sign-to-Voice and Voice-to-Sign).
• Maintain licensure and certification requirements as applicable.
• Uphold Sorenson standards, FCC regulations, and RID Code of Conduct.
• Complete tasks and paperwork promptly within guidelines.
• Adapt to a flexible, fast-paced, regulated work environment.
• Learn and implement new technologies as needed.
• Collaborate with team and provide support to colleagues.
