Job summary

Sorenson Communications, LLC is expanding its Video Relay Service (VRS) and seeking Sign Language Interpreters to provide ASL–to–English and English–to–ASL interpreting services. This part-time opportunity is based in Philadelphia, PA, with flexible shifts and opportunities for CEU credits and licensure support.

Responsibilities include interpreting between ASL and spoken English, maintaining licensure, complying with FCC and RID standards, and contributing to a fast-paced, customer-focused

Qualifications

• Pass our required skills assessment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree (preferred, but not required).
• Interpreter certification (as required by local regulations).
• 3 years’ interpreting experience (preferred, but not required).
• Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
• Fast-paced, highly regulated, customer-service oriented environment.
• Dexterity to use a computer keyboard and mouse.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between ASL and spoken English.
• Maintain licensure and certification requirements as applicable.
• Comply with Sorenson standards, FCC regulations, RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Adhere to Sorenson attendance policy.
• Complete tasks/documents promptly within guidelines.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to meet VRS needs.
• Learn and implement new technologies.
• Work well in a team and support colleagues.
• Adapt to oversight including call monitoring and evaluations.
• Continue developing interpreting skills through education.
